Loved the location and would stay again in a minute. I was disappointed that the "do not disturb" signs on our door were continually ignored. I was traveling with 2 associates, so 3 rooms total. Maid supervisor came in without even knocking, we were called to see if we wanted service, the maids came in to clean... even after my letting the front desk know that if the do not disturb sign was out, I did not want service.
They took a pre authorisation for the bill plus 150 extra IN ADDITION to my paying the bill at the end of the stay ...which was a total of 1200 off my card. pre authorisation lasted for a full week .( 5 days after I left ) which was a source of great distress to me .. I was not told this on check in ..when i rang to enquire later in the week I was treated very rudely and told to write in my complaint. So be aware of this and make sure your bill is paid for out of your pre authorisation ,,,otherwise it is a great hotel in a great location and again the real heros are the room cleaners who do a brilliant job .had a standard room which had very comfortable bed and even though on a side street extremely quiet.
there was a problem with our booking rate and inclusive package which took time to sort and the staff were not over helpful but the location of the hotel is superb and the quality of the product is very good
bathroom with a little shower inside the small bathtub, with very poor water spout
bed uncomfortable, old mattress.
necessary to pass through the restaurant to get the room
Swimming pool water should be clean at all time, towels should be available at all time, food at the restaurant should reach the table when still warm, quality should match the prices, housekeepers MUST AVOID SHOUTING IN THE MORNING IN THE CORRIDOR while doing the cleaning just to share the night before gossip, at the end of the story we paid almost lot of money to sleep.
Really disappointed.
Best service given by the laudry department, really polite, precise and helpfull.
No wireless in rooms, rooms very small and very old......
The entrance and foyer is good and looks like a quality hotel. But the lift entrance is tired, and in need of refurbishment.
General room quality is poor considering the price, and would be at the standard of a budget hotel in many other cities.
I guess that is what you get in Paris.
Very central hotel - would recommend it.
- however the pool seems a bit dark compared to the photos on the web.
The shower space is a bit not useful.
Water spred around from the cartain.
I prefer that the cartain must be longer.
Excellent service, great location and nice indoor pool and steam room. Our room was on the side of the hotel where the garbage trucks came each morning, so it was a bit loud. Concierge was excellent, and other hotel service was also very good. Location is wonderful if you want to visit the Louvre and the Tuilleries. The Tuilleries metro stop is just across the street.
My only suggestion would be that you 'air' the rooms prior to guests arriving. Our room was a bit stuffy and because there was only one window, it always felt as if there was a lack of fresh air.
We love to stay here, location is perfect and staff is very friendly.
Perfect location! I would rather have wireless ability from the bedroom. Other than that it was perfect.
The showers were terrible. I had to change one room because the shower curtain rod was broken and the bathroom flooded. Also, there were not soap dishes in the showers (all rooms) and there was no place to keep the soap and shampoo during the showers. In the apartment 106, one bedroom had only one small lamp and it was not sufficient to light the bedroom. In our first room (006) the safe did not work and management had to examine it and insert new batteries as the old ones were dead and the safe would not work until the batteries were changed. This should have been checked ahead of time. Also, you could add some pictures on the walls to make the rooms more pleasant.
We don't have any complaint about the treatment with employees, in fact concierge and clerk at reception were excellent. However, the housekeeping services are more than deficient for a 4 stars hotel. Toiletries were not replaced neither enough for the days we stayed, towels were not replaced; even the glasses were not cleaned from day to day. A pillow disapeared from one day to the other, keep out by the housekeeping services, but never replaced. Summarizing, the hotel has a perfect location, the employees at reception made a great job, and great recommendations, but the hotel experience in general will never meet expectations for a guest that is expecting a four stars hotel experience, paid at a rate according with a four stars hotel.
Plus:
1. Spacious Junior Suite.
2. Very good bath facilities: shampoo, body gel and lotion.
3. Comfort bad.
Minus:
1. Smell in the room when windows are closed.
2. Separate bathroom and cloak-room.
3. One chair in the room. It's very unconvenient to sit together at the table.
Hotel must install small shower baths close to the privy in the WC.
The only thing we didn't like about our room was that it needed more seating. But we have stayed several time at the St James and Albany. It's location is superb--one of the best in Paris. The staff are all courteous and friendly and very helpful. As always we enjoyed our stay there.
very nice hotel and room, but unfortunately the quality of the mattress was very poor! I would not choose this hotel again, because the sleeping comfort was very bad!
The hotel was under construction which is why I think we got such a great deal. It wasn't bad though. The noisy work didn't start until 10am which didn't bother us as we were headed out for the day by that time. The lobby and restaurant were very nice. The room needed some work..hence the coming renovations. It was a little on the tired looking side. We were comfortable though and the room was clean. The staff we dealt with were all great. I would recommend the hotel but I wouldn't pay full price until the room renovations are done.

I would never stay in this hotel again The rooms need a toatal update Filthy carpets and walls Old dark furniture Terrible
Unglaublich!
All aspects of hotel excellent except for room. Our room very worn and tired. Bathroom in very poor shape. We were very disappointed in the physical operation of the bathroom. Would recommend the hotel, except the condition of our stay in the room we had. Expressed our displeasure with our bathroom, they did address the problems, but they re-occured. Four star hotels should not have these sorts of problems.
When we first arrived I was surprised with the room assigned to us. I had booked in advance through the internet and I was expecting a much better room. Next day they changed our room and it was OK. The front desk people were especially nice and helpful.
After all it was a pleasant stay.
Thank you.

At the reception desk (where we were alot due to toilet malfunctions), we heard many complaints. One guest complained of poor shower, one complained of ineffective air conditioning and others complained of poor pressure for toilet flushing. We however, had no working toilet and I had to use the basement for an operating toilet. If the problem was addressed when I complained initially, I would not have had to go to another room with no air conditioning for an operating toilet. The management did address our inconvenience but in their time not quickly and efficiently enough for us. Much of our touring time was wasted addressing and handling this problem.
This was a four star hotel and although reception appeared four star our room was disappointing. The room was large but had a very low ceiling, was dark and the bathroom had several smashed floor tiles. Carpet was very worn. Room service food was not very fresh and my first choice was not available.
UN SPLENDIDE SEJOUR TOUT A FAIT EN RELATION DE CE QU'ON PEUT ATTENDRE D'UNE VILLE COMME PARIS
the hotel rooms and the pool area need a urgent renovation
Rooms were a little tired, in my opinion in need of refurbishment.
Hallways (floors, walls) in need of refurbishment.
For both the above I can only comment on the 5th floor we were on.
2 lifts (small and very old) both very, very slow - not in keeping with the reception / entrance hall which was very large, spacious and modern.
Had hot water problems - took 5-10 minutes for hot water to come through. Not ideal.
The front of the house staff was very good. However, housekeeping was poor. We were there for 8 days and it was never vacuumed the entire time. The room was badly in need of renovating and/or repairs. The drapery rod was falling off the wall. Wallpaper was peeling from the walls. The door trim around the elevator was missing . The property could be lovely, but right now, it is not good. I would say it is more 3 star than 4 star, as advertised. However, the location is excellent and the "bones" of the hotel are wonderful. It just needs updating and attention to details. please do not use my name on this review. Thank you.
Very unfriendly and non-qualified staff at the reception, they even do not know how to operate with credit cards. They can't say sorry after mistakes, generally, the hotel staff is so arrogant.
We had one little problem whit the bathroom: we had only drops in the shower. As far as I know this is a Paris' problem.
Room temperature was really high when we entered at first. Please foresee somebody to have the widows open for a certain period of the day (as the air conditioning didn't function yet - too early in the season?). Small/short beds - French? Suite was large enough to host parents with two children.
Excellent service at the reception, breakfast and bar throughout the stay. Very friendly for children and always ready to help where needed. I would recommend using this quality as a selling argument.
Thanks for the nice stay and till a next time!
Only negative would be the size of the bedrooms - very small, and with a suitcase each, not much room to swing a cat! Served a purpose though - simply somewhere to sleep. We were hardly in the hotel at all - so much sight seeing to do, location was excellent!
As alteration works are under way in the hotel - a bit noisy and disruptive, best to postpone your visit. On the plus side, the bar and food therein was well run and reasonable in cost. On the debit side, avoid all rooms nordering the central light well (207 as an example). The structure is an acoustic disaster, funneling all noise at ground level up to and into the rooms.
Excellent hotel - well located for all attractions & transport connections. Hotel very comfortable with excellent reception/concierge service. Would definitely return & recommend.
The pictures on the web look much better than in reality. We were disapointed of the standard considering the hotel being af 4 star hotel.
But your staff everywhere were great and very helpful.
The best is the situation. The common places at the hotel are excellent as well, the reception, the bar, the spa, the terrace...but, about the rooms, the pictures at the web site are from the biggest and better ones I suppose...I've stayed at a double standard one, in my opinion the room was very tiny (someone has told me it is normal in most hotels), and the furniture very old and no nice at all. I've asked twice for a queen size bed, and finally I had two singles. The quality of the bed is not real good, I've had backache all days because the mattres, too soft.
The bathroom, clean, bit old, and no bidet in.
My room was smaller than I had expected. I reserve their least expensive room and was not happy as it had very low ceilings and was quite small. Even though the hotel is in the midst of a renovation and its' main entrance is closed, the temporary entrance and reception are very good. I suspect a more expensive room would be nicer. The spa and its staff although small were nice. On a hot day it was nice to be able to swim.
We had a great deal on a duplex room that was utterly fantastic. Go there.
The pool was why we stayed at this hotel - with kids it is a requirement. Since the pool is part of the spa, however, we felt it wasn't "family friendly." Perhaps set aside a couple of hours a day to just have kids in the pool - we felt like we imposed on people and their spa time when we arrived with our kids to swim.
Hotel exterior in need of refurbishment.
Furniture, carpets and beds in room all shabby and stained.
Children's bed was a wobbly pull out couch.
Air conditioning was non functional.
No air extraction in tiny WC area (no small issue when traveling with 2 teenage children)
45 Euros per day for wireless internet grossly excessive.
22 Euros per person continental breakfast (coffee, fruit juice, croissant, toast) no bargain either!
Swimming pool was closed.
The only positive aspects of the Hotel were is location next to the Tuileries and the staff who were pleasant.
Overall 3/10
Beautiful hotel in the perfect location. Very quiet, very comfortable - loved it!
We were transferred to another hotel : Hotel Ambassador in blvd Hausmann. We only received an e-mail concerning this transfer 2 days upon arrival. The location of the hotel did not match our expectations.
All rooms need a make-over, they are looking extremely tired.
Only problem with the hotel was how noisy it was at night. Very loud noise from outside all night particularly traffic...road cleaners etc.
This hotel is located in a very good location for seeing the sites of Paris. The accomodations are nice and the size of rooms is good for families. If you are looking for a higher end hotel this is not for you. It has good sized rooms however the decor is dated. Staff and service is very good and proximity to sites and subway are excellent.
