The hotel has a 4-star rating which it does not merit....
It is quite shabby, dark and the room is very small...
The bath is in poor condition...
HOWEVER...
The employees are ALL: lovely, helpful, considerate, willing and if some money is invested into the hotel and the employees remain there, I would be hapy to recommend Villa Montparnasse to my friends and family!!

We were nicely surprised to find a hotel a bit out of the way without being too far out of the way (this translates into quiet nights). The area has restaurants, small food stores, and a bit of local shopping. McDonalds is also only a block away and saves a bit on the cost of the "euro" breakfast. Many other attractions are within an easy metro ride (Denfert-Rochereau) and the RER line to CDG is also easily accessed from the hotel. Within walking distance (10 minutes strolling) is also the Montparnasse Station (with both the metro and the TGV).
My husband and I liked the hotel enough to book our return to Paris (at the end of our holiday)at the hotel and will stay again when we come back to Paris next June.
Villa Montparnasse is excellent value for money.
Air conditioning soundede as if it was working but failed to cool the room.
breakfast charges (15€) are prohibitive !!!
We were very pleased with this hotel and the lively interesting district. We considered the breakfast price too expensive but found good cafes as well as restaurants nearby.
The location of this hotel was a disappointment. As a non-french speaking traveller Paris is a difficult city to visit unless you are with a tour guide. Getting a bus to and from the museums was especially frustrating.
Expensive for type of hotel. Rooms very small, door cuold hardly close. Staff not very helpful
A very convenient hotel which I can only recommend, at 2 minutes of the famous Rue Daguerre.
I specifically asked for disabled room with disable toilet facilities. The first room we got had a bath and my husband couldn't get into it. Was upgraded to a suite with shower cubicle instead. Staff were very helpful in this case, no complaints. Just need to get more disabled facilities installed. Get a disable person to advise on what is needed.
Hello,
Here are few things that I believe need improvement:
1. Cleanliness and quality of bed sheets (the first set had stains and a hole)
2. White towels need to be replaced with new ones when they are not white anymore; repeated washing makes them grayish / yellowish.
3. Pay TV did not work.
4. Reduce the price of breakfast. 18 euros per person is very expensive. One can eat really well for 9 euros in any cafe.
Anyways, the overall look of the hotel was nice, and the staff was friendly.
Best regards,
Liviu Birza
Rooms not too big
Interresting and cosy, but the bedroom and the bathroom are small.
2 beds placed side by side do not constitute a kingsize.
Any specific services except a bar with 1 table an 4 armchair.
