We love the location and breakfast but the hotel is badly in need of an update. I have stayed here in the past and been OK but this was very disappointing. Our room smelled of cigarette smoke, the AC system barely worked, the front desk staff failed to make an advanced restaurant reservation for us (luckily we had them call before we left that evening so we didn't travel there for no reason - they were fully booked), there was no one at the bar downstairs. We expected more and with a bit more effort the hotel could be great. It's not just the people (many were very nice), I think they were trying, the hotel is just badly in need of renovation.

This is the second time we have stayed there. It suits our needs perfectly and is excellent value for the price. Compared to many rooms we have stayed in in Paris, these are ample sized (at least the 2 we have had -- Americans should not expect vast oceans of space like they are used to at home).

I came to this hotel for four times and at this time i feel very disapointed and unconfortable. After 11:00hs flying , when i made check in and come to my room and empty my bags, NOBODY told us what the air conditioning wasnt working. UNBELIVEABLE. The hotel ask us about a discount of 10% to stay in the room in summertime in Paris. We change hotel very disapointed and i never more stay in Villa Beaumarchais.
I was in Paris to celebrate 30 years of marriage

We had reserved for 2 adults with a child at one price but had to upgrade 50E per night to get a room big enough for a cot. There was no cross ventilation and the ac system was not working. We felt insecure because someone could enter the room. There was no explanation about using the safe. There was no magnifying or full-length mirror. How did this get a 4*Luxe ratin?
THe help was very accommodating, however.

No meal service other than breakfast. Bar only open on request - rather a chore for the staff concerned!
Quiet location a real benefit away - but not too far - from main tourist areas.
Second visit and would definitely stay there again.
Needs to invest in a high chair for babies.

Great location, would recommend this hotel to others. Some staff a bit indifferent but on the whole everyone tried to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Need to upgrade the fitness area (it is a small dark room with two cardiovascular machines and a few weights) and it would have been nice if the downstairs bar was open for a few hours during the evening (it was closed during our entire stay). A good Paris choice.

This was our second stay, again chosen because of location and quietness (all rooms face inwards around an open square - ours was on the 3rd floor); and the breakfast was good. Apart from a rather dirty entrance, our only complaints were that (1) the rotary switch on the air conditioning controller was missing on arrival - which shows a lack of attention to detail in checking rooms and (2) it was not replaced during our visit - a lamentably poor response.

1) The hotel staff at the front desk was not exactly friendly and cheerful but were polite and very professional though.
2) The hotel says Wi-Fi is available but it did NOT work for more than 95% of our stay. Unavailability of the internet in the rooms may not be acceptable for many travellers nowadays. And they also charged 10 euros per 30 minutes for using the public computer with internet kept in the lobby. This should have been free(?) when one of their stated service(Wi-Fi) wasnt working.
3) We were travelling with a two year old kid and the staff in the restaurant were kind enough to accomodate our needs in this regard - warm milk etc.
4) Would be nice if the hotel started Lunch/Dinner service too. Right now they serve only breakfast.
5) The Hotel is conveniently located very close to 2 Metro stations which is a very good advantage.

The property has a lot of potential and could be much improved with better management. The location is excellent for visitors to the Marais area in Paris. The hotel is extremely quiet despite its location right next to a major boulevard. The room size is larger than the typical European standard. The structure of the building around a central yard is lovely. The moderate number of rooms makes it an intimate affair. But: The hotel is routinely understaffed. The attention to proper functioning of accessories [room safe, to give just one example] is sub-standard. The appearance is old fashioned while some modernity in furniture and fixtures could do wonders here. In summary: An OK hotel, with the potential to become a really desireable property, if management ever puts its mind to it.

Thanks to a friend's recommendation, we stayed at this hotel for the first time over Easter. It is a lovely little hotel in a quiet location, offering very good value; the rooms although compact are comfortable and are kept very clean and the mattresses are firm. Staff are very helpful and courteous. The quality and quantity of the breakfast was a pleasant surprise. The location is also a plus - only a few minutes walk to the Bastille metro. We definitely will return to this hotel the next time we go to Paris.

The location was perfect. The staff were helpful, the room was quiet. The buffet breakfast required improvement, in particular the powdered scrambled eggs were not tasty. Boilled eggs should be available. Also include a rubber mat in bathtub as the tubs are slippery to get in and out.

Perfect location. Well versed and friendly staff. Exactly what I had expected. My only criticism would be of the cost of Internet Access - which at Euro 10 per 30 minutes was outrageous. I also found the cost of food (if ordering Room Service) extremely high. Eat out, find an Internet Cafe - enjoy the comfort of the room and the location.

I have recommended the hotel to my colleagues, who has already booked accommodation.
One major disadvantage is that the TV has no enlgish language channel. CNN was available but not any more.

Address is somewhat misleading as the hotel is as good as on avenue Beaumarchais,even the taxi driver had difficulty with the address.Excellent restaurants nearby, all mid price,especially the great Chez Oscar towards the Bastille metro stop.The nearest metro station is actually Chemin Vert.Good base,if a little pricey,nevertheless will certainly use this hotel again and would reccomend to others.

Clean, well-located. We had a "corner" room which looks like it was smaller than other rooms but still fine for a couple of days. Staff was friendly and spoke English. Would definitely recommend and stay there again based on price and location.

For a 4* hotel, I would have expected at least 1 English non-pay TV channel to be available and to have free wi-fi internet access - there were no such facilities.
Hotel rooms have a tired look to them - curtains and net curtains not full fitting, meaning cannot blck out light entirely when sleeping
Toilet flushed only occasionally and bath water took an age to run down the plughole - not great when you need to shower!

Looks very stylish but smaller than i imagined from pictures. Others said it was a bit run down but its hardly noticeable because its so clean and stylish. It's right off a main street so its very quiet and good dark curtains allow to sleep as much as you want.
